#13.  DAYS 'N NIGHTS
(My Tribute Song To Truckers!)
I GOT MY DAYS & NIGHTS MIXED UP AGAIN
BUT THAT'S EASY TO DO
WHEN YOU'RE TRUCKIN' UP & DOWN THE ROAD
DAY & NIGHT TOO

WELL DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE TRUCKER
AND HOW HARD HE WORKS
WHEN YOU BUY YOUR GROCERIES AT THE STORE?
DO YOU KNOW HE WAS DRIVIN'
WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPIN'
MAYBE EVEN WHILE YOU DID SNORE.........!

THE STARS WERE SHININ' & THE MOON WAS OUT
BUT HE DIDN'T GO TO BED.
HE HAD TO GET THE LOAD DELIVERED ON TIME
SO EVERYONE COULD GET FED.
DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE TRUCKER
AND HOW HARD HE WORKS
WHEN YOU BUY YOUR GROCERIES AT THE STORE?
DO YOU KNOW HE WAS DRIVIN'
WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPIN'
MAYBE EVEN WHILE YOU DID SNORE.........!

THIS DRIVER EVEN SAID
A PRAYER FOR YOU
WHILE YOU WERE AT REST:
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL HE DID, MY FRIEND....
HE PRAYED YOUR GROCERIES WOULD BE BLESSED!
DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE TRUCKER
AND HOW HARD HE WORKS
WHEN YOU BUY YOUR GROCERIES AT THE STORE?
DO YOU KNOW HE WAS DRIVIN'
WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPIN'
MAYBE EVEN WHILE YOU DID SNORE.........!
DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE TRUCKER
AND HOW HARD HE WORKS..........................?!!

PS. 45:1 My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

FYI: I wrote and recorded this song years ago.  Wrote it from inside the cab of an eighteen wheeler.  I traveled throughout the United States in an eighteen wheeler evangelizing on the CB radio as my husband drove.  Most of the time we hauled beef from Texas to Illinois, but other loads took us farther.  The first year I was in all but three States, so I paid my dues to write songs, poems, etc.  I did not drive, nor did I want to.  I was busy enough keeping the bunk area clean, making meals at all hours, singing, praying, ministering on that microphone, not to mention keeping my husband awake in the wee hours of the morning until we reached the dock area to get unloaded.

The next post will reveal more about hardships while traveling in such small quarters.  I've been single about ten years now and still have compassion for the trucking families who get the goods delivered....on time.  They do a lot of sacrificing, the husbands, and the wives, and children.  My brother drove for years and loved it.  He was not home much, but when he was we always knew he would have fresh stories to tell.  He never disappointed us.  In fact, I'm not sure who enjoyed the stories more; he as he told them or the rest of the family as we listened!  Bottom Line: We need to pray for and appreciate the truckers, especially long haul, for all they do!  After all, I haven't met anyone who does not...like to eat, and someone has to get the goods delivered.  If It Got There...A Truck Brought It!    (On that note, if I had a horn, I would blow it!
#12.              NO FUSSIN'

WHEN YOU KNOW HOW MUCH JESUS REALLY LOVES YOU
YOU’LL FIND YOURSELF LOVIN’ HIM BACK TOO.
YOU’LL KNOW IN YOUR HEART THAT THERE IS NOTHING
TOO HARD FOR HIM TO DO.

HE’S THE GOD OF IMPOSSIBILITIES.
HE’S THE GOD OF THE MIRACULOUS.
HE SAVES, HEALS, & DELIVERS.
HE DOES IT WITHOUT ANY FUSS.

SO IF YOU NEED JESUS TO SAVE YOU.
OPEN YOUR DOOR, INVITE HIM IN.
HE’S BEEN A KNOCKIN’ & YOU KNOW IT.
ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOUR SIN.

HE’S THE GOD OF IMPOSSIBILITIES.
HE’S THE GOD OF THE MIRACULOUS.
HE SAVES, HEALS, & DELIVERS.
HE DOES IT WITHOUT ANY FUSS.

SO IF YOU NEED JESUS TO HEAL YOU
REACH TOWARD HEAVEN AND RECEIVE.
HE SAID: “BY HIS STRIPES YOU WERE HEALED.”
REACH OUT WITH FAITH, AND BELIEVE.

HE’S THE GOD OF IMPOSSIBILITIES.
HE’S THE GOD OF THE MIRACULOUS.
HE SAVES, HEALS, & DELIVERS.
HE DOES IT WITHOUT ANY FUSS.

SO IF YOU NEED……DELIVERANCE…
JESUS PAID THE PRICE TO SET YOU FREE.
IN HIS NAME, I RELEASE EACH CAPTIVE.
I PROCLAIM FOR YOU…LIBERTY!

HE’S THE GOD OF IMPOSSIBILITIES.
HE’S THE GOD OF THE MIRACULOUS.
HE SAVES, HEALS, & DELIVERS.
HE DOES IT WITHOUT ANY FUSS.

PS. 45:1 “My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

FYI:  Yes, these are song lyrics, recorded years ago.  One Saturday evening I wrote the song.  I always get the music and the song together.  If no music, it is a poem.  Most songs take about twenty minutes, a few take longer.  The thing I recall about this song is that Sunday morning when I went to church, we always went into the prayer room before service.  During that time the Sr. Pastor prayed also, and when he did, I heard him saying words that were in my song lyrics.  It was hard to keep my eyes closed in prayer because I was astounded.

Here he was marching across the room adamantly proclaiming....."because Jesus...you save, and you heal, and you deliver!"  I told him later that he was praying my song lyrics and it blessed him.  God knows how to confirm something.  It was like warm oil stirring my heart with truth.  I love how God loves me...'No Fussin'! PTL (In case anyone does not know, "PTL"... simply means:  "Praise the Lord").
#11.  GOD'S LOVE IN ACTION

THE RED VELVET PETALS ON A ROSE
HUG EACH OTHER
TOGETHER
THEY MAKE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

EACH ONE IS SIGNIFICANT
EACH ONE HAS A JOB TO DO
INDIVIDUALLY &
COLLECTIVELY

THEY CAN NOT BE REPLACED
NOR CAN YOU!
LIKE THE PETALS ON THE ROSE…
YOU ARE NECESSARY…

YOU HAVE A JOB TO DO
YOU’RE PART OF WHAT MAKES
THAT ROSE
SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL…

YOUR LOVE IS THE FOOD, THAT MAKES IT GROW
YOUR COMPASSION HEALS THE WOUNDS
YOUR PRAYERS KEEP IT ALIVE
YOU ARE GOD’S LOVE…IN ACTION!

THE RED VELVET PETALS ON A ROSE
HUG EACH OTHER.
TOGETHER,
THEY MAKE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

YOUR LOVE IS THE FOOD THAT MAKES IT GROW…
YOUR COMPASSION HEALS THE WOUNDS
YOUR PRAYERS KEEP IT ALIVE
YOU ARE GOD’S LOVE…IN ACTION
YES YOU…ARE GOD’S LOVE…IN ACTION!

#10. MY DADDY

He is a man that is "Frank",
Generous, honest, and sincere,
Gentle, kind, loyal,
It’s great when he’s here.
He brings warmth to the room
With his masculine physic.
His dark brown eyes
And a smile in his cheek.
He is always pleasant,
Easygoing and fun,
Friendly to all.
Foe to none.
He takes me to dinner.
He’s always buying treats.
He’s the reason for a happy face
On everyone he meets.
He loaned me his car.
He loaned me some money.
He never complained.
He’s a real honey.
He fixed the lawnmower.
He vacuumed the pool.
He repaired the car.
He’s no fool.
He’s a Husband.
He’s a Father.
He’s a Grand-pop.
He’s a Friend.
He’s not bad.
He’s my Dad.
I love him.
The End.

FYI:  I had the honor of reading this poem to my Daddy  because I wrote it to him for Father's Day.  At that time
of our lives, I was always in church on Sunday.  He was surprised to see me show up on a Sunday morning early!
In my heart I was surprised at the instruction the Holy Spirit gave me because he told me to go and surprise Daddy.  I said I would go after church.  He said, "No, go now."  The inspiration to do so stayed strong so I obeyed.  Since that time....I have learned not to try to box God in, and not to be religious.  Just pray and obey.  I am so glad I did because I now understand that God was teaching me how to show "Honor" to my Father.  I might point out it was the only time in the past three decades that the Holy Spirit specifically told me to stay home Sunday morning.  "Forsake not the assembling of the saints..." Point made...I pray.  Okay, back to my testimony...

Daddy was sitting at the kitchen table playing solitaire, as I had seen him do hundreds and hundreds of times.
Especially during the past five years of his life during which time he had cancer.  Only during the last two
years of his life did I know Jesus as my Savior and Lord but Daddy saw a lot of changes that he knew
I could not do myself.  This got his attention plus the fact that people were praying for Daddy.  Long story short, 15 1/2 hours before Daddy crossed the finish line, I led him to the Lord.  Tears streamed down his cheeks in that hospital room as God did a deep work from within.  The wonderful song, "Amazing Grace" is especially sweet to my heart.  Without a doubt I know I will see my wonderful earthly Father, Daddy, again.  What a glorious reunion that will be.  He has been there since March '81, 31 years now and I can still see his face as clear as yesterday when I think of him.  The one verse from the Bible that I grabbed hold of was God's promise in Acts 16:31 "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy household."  That means my immediately family.  One God, One Promise, One Daughter, One Holy Spirit inspiring me to pray with the faith God put in my heart and God honored His Word.  I give Him all the glory and use this testimony to encourage others that are praying for souls.  Never give up because God honors His Word.  He keeps His promises.  He is not a liar.  My dad was almost totally deaf and almost blind so I had to move past circumstances and believe God will do what He says.  He DID!  :-)  Acts 16:31 One of my Favorite Verses!  Glory To God

#9.  JESUS...JESUS!!

JESUS. JESUS.
YOU'RE THE SUN ON MY SHOULDERS.
YOU'RE THE LOVE IN MY HEART.
YOU'RE THE LIGHT IN MY EYES.
THERE IS NO DISGUISE.

MY HEART IS OPEN
CLEANSED, PURIFIED
AND IN THE VINE
I CHOOSE TO ABIDE.

JESUS. JESUS.
YOU'RE THE CLOUDS IN THE SKY.
YOU'RE THE STARS THAT SHINE.
YOU'RE THE SUN & THE MOON.
YOU ARE THE NEW WINE.

MY HEART IS OPEN
CLEANSED, PURIFIED
AND IN THE VINE
I CHOOSE TO ABIDE.

YOU'RE THE TREES THAT WAVE.
YOU'RE THE LEAVES THAT FALL...
AND YOU ARE TO ME
MY ALL IN ALL
 JESUS...JESUS
JESUS...JESUS
JESUS....JESUS

FYI:  The 'Song Lyrics' above were written quickly and unexpectedly.  I was in the habit of going for a long walk down the path the tractor and farm implements made across acreage on the farm where I lived.  The open fields provided a view across the land to the highway and to the Lake Ontario, as well as houses in the distance, and a few trees, barns, etc.
This particular Saturday afternoon was an especially beautiful day, very sunny, billowy clouds, strong breeze as I returned from my walk.  It was common for me to sing to the Lord as I walked.  I had such a strong unction to sing that I had my arms up in the air as I walked, even ran and skipped a bit; my spirit was so joyful!  The further I walked, the higher my spirit soared!  On my way back to the house I started to receive words....lyrics to a new song, and the melody.  Then I started to run because the words were coming so fast...... how would I remember them all??? I did not bring a paper and pen with me!

Almost frantically I ran into the house and hurriedly wrote these words that were recorded some time ago.  Not only was a song birthed; I learned a valuable lesson:  always take pen and paper or a recorder when I go for a walk, or anywhere for that matter.  When inspired to be creative, I will be prepared.  This time it worked out well, thankfully...because now.....every time I sing this song I am reminded of those days of special walks in the fresh country air.

Sad to say, that house was demolished and replaced by a large Canadian Tire Store, in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. Nothing against Canadian Tire Stores, in fact I like shopping there...(except in that particular store).  The house is gone, but I praise God for my precious cherished memories!  That is something money can not buy.  Important to be thankful for little things, and big. As my motto says:  Small World...BIG GOD.  He positioned me in that beautiful old farmhouse and led me step by step across those fields.  Nothing is too hard for Him.  Jer. 32:27
